What's Included With an Avocado Tree Rental?
The tree, the delivery, the care guidance and our responsibility for the tree's health. And clearly, the things that are on you.

What drives the price, how rental compares to buying an equivalent tree, and where to find the current plan pricing.

Live pricing lives on the plans page
We keep exact figures in one place so they cannot go stale in an article. See Trees & Plans for current annual pricing. This page explains what drives that number.
Rental is priced annually rather than monthly, because a tree's life runs on seasons, not billing cycles. A year covers a full cycle of summer heat, monsoon and the cooler months — which is the honest unit for judging whether a tree suits your space.
| Factor | Effect |
|---|---|
| Age and size of the tree | The largest single factor. An established tree represents years of farm care and costs more than a young one. |
| Variety | Some varieties are slower or harder to grow well and are correspondingly scarcer. |
| Distance from the partner farm | Transport is a real cost and a real stress on the tree. Closer routes are cheaper and better for the plant. |
| Level of support | Higher plans include more hands-on guidance and closer monitoring. |
| Replacement risk | Because we own the tree, the price carries the cost of standing behind it. |

Two things make the comparison less obvious than it looks. First, nursery pricing is usually for young saplings, not for a tree that is several years into its life — the sapling is cheaper because it is at the risky end of the curve. Second, a purchase price does not include anyone answering the phone in month four.
Over a long horizon with a tree that survives, buying wins on pure cost. Over the first few years, with real failure risk, rental usually wins. The full comparison is here.
The expensive mistake is not the fee
It is the tree that dies. Almost every avocado failure we see traces back to drainage or a missed watering stretch — both free to prevent and expensive to fix.
If you want a straight answer for your city, plan and space, tell us the details and we will quote rather than estimate.
Annually. A tree's life runs on seasons, and a full year covers summer heat, monsoon and the cooler months — the honest period over which to judge whether the tree suits your space.
No. Delivery and placement in live service areas, care support and our responsibility for the tree are part of the plan. The main variable outside the fee is anything structural at your end, like a planter or terrace work.
Renewal pricing depends on the plan and the tree at the time. We will always tell you before renewal rather than letting a change appear on an invoice.
We write from two places: published horticultural research from institutions such as ICAR-IIHR and the University of California, and what our partner farms actually observe growing avocado in Indian conditions. Where the evidence is thin or regional, we say so instead of rounding it into a confident answer.
Researched and written in-house, reviewed by our farm coordination team. Last reviewed 3 September 2026.

Rental
Renting is not automatically better. It is better when the risk of losing a young tree matters to you. Here is the honest comparison, including when to just buy.

Rental
Terms run annually and most people renew — which matters, because an avocado that stays put for years is the one that eventually fruits.

Rental
Not a subscription box, not a nursery sapling. A living tree that a farmer has already grown for years, delivered to your home and supported while it is with you.
