How often should I water an avocado tree?

It depends far more on soil, pot size and weather than on a fixed schedule. In hot weather a potted tree may need water every two or three days; in cool weather the same tree may go a week or more. Check the soil before watering.

What are the signs of overwatering an avocado tree?

Persistently damp soil, yellowing leaves, drooping despite wet soil, leaf drop and a sour smell at the root zone are commonly reported signs. Wilting with wet soil is a warning sign, not a sign of thirst.

Should I water avocado during monsoon?

Usually not. Focus on drainage — raised planting, free-draining mix and avoiding pooling around the trunk.

If the soil is still damp at the recommended interval, extend it. The tool cannot feel your soil.
