Cold-tolerance figures describe established trees under brief exposure. Young trees are damaged at far milder temperatures, and every figure here shifts with rootstock, soil and how the tree has been grown.
Growing Fuerte
- Give it space — the canopy spreads more widely than Hass.
- Handle fruit gently; the thin skin marks easily.
- Often planted alongside an A-type to overlap flowering.
Typical uses
- Table fruit
- Local fresh markets
- Pollinizer in mixed orchards
